 Its Pitch Dark at Q

Thai designer Pitchaya Srirapong is so inspired by the concept of time – that she uses all the elements that we associate with time-keeping as ingredients to fashion her one-of-a-kind hand-assembled jewellery. To capture a fleeting moment of time wear one of her knuckle-duster rings made from the inner workings of a watch, or an inverted watch face ring or a bracelet or necklace made to look like a watch band. The best thing about this minimalist line is that its witty elegance does not distract… making it suitable for all you working girls.

Aki who studied handbag design & construction at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in 2003 has been making colorful bags and frame pouches over the last six years.

Watch Yourself in Closet Gothic Steampunk Jewellery

Kiwi-designer Janne Perry says that she is creatively addicted to designing and making Steampunk-inspired jewellery as a celebration and a lament to a lost mechanical age.

Janne sources antique (80-120 years old) and vintage (50-80 years old) watch movements replete with miniscule cogs, wheels and tiny original rubies which she recovers and fashions into rings and necklaces that are not only unique and original and, in keeping with this modern century, very eco-friendly! We have chosen an exquisite selection of her rings and necklaces for all of you, now at Q!

 Long Live the King

How impressive is Nicholas King’s resume? Interning in  Paris at John Galliano’s atelier, NYC with Donna Karan and then finally working with Alexis Bittar in Brooklyn before heading home to London to create his own line of modern bold jewellery. Inspired by both materials and processes Nick makes bright, beautiful and invariably witty cuffs –  embedded with diamante, straw, pleated silk and more, as well as amazingly fab necklaces.

His pieces are also regularly featured in Vogue, Bazaar, Red and Elle. Come to Q the King just entered the building!

Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth and James

Diminutive Olsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley have partnered with extremely talented New York-based Robert Lee Morris to launch their Elizabeth and James jewellery line that so ably complements their super successful clothing label.

Called Robert Lee Morris for Elizabeth and James the 80-plus styles in the collection include earrings, cuffs, rings and necklaces and can easily be mixed and matched making this super-minimalist line easy and spare to buy and wear. I especially love their sterling silver pieces which sport a stripe of stripe of yellow gold plating, to add a differentiating dash to the line.

Robert Lee Morris has enjoyed a career in designing architectural-style jewellery for everyone from Calvin Klein to Donna Karan for over 40 years. The Olsens were child and then tween stars who parlayed their success into a billion dollar brand. They are also celebrated for their unique and very individual fashion styles.

Roll-out the Red Carpet for Princesse K

Independent Mumbai-based Princesse K (yes, that’s French for Princess) was started by fashion journalist Karishma Shahani to create very individual western-style designs and infuse them with fun and frivolity through her use of Indian colours and craftsmanship.

Apart from her sequined striped totes in all possible combinations we also have her “Tropical Muse” collection in which exotic flora and fauna are painstakingly embroidered onto non-leather black totes

It’s a tropical jungle at Q so mind the stampeding giraffes!
