Down Argentina Way with Sibilia

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

Buenos Aires-based architect/jeweler/artisan Fernanda Sibilia creates eclectic, geometric, organically-shaped jewellery that really defies description! She uses hammered metals in 22k gold plating, old-fashioned brass, 925 silver, copper and bronze in combination with forged leathers to create bold yet contemporary and totally wearable jewellery – which is oftentimes mobile and always ergonomic. Seeing is believing…

Expand your Horizons with Alex and Ani

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

You just have to love Carolyn Rafealian whose signature expandable bangles fit the wrists and roll down the arms of rocker chicks like Miley Cyrus and Jessica Simpson. Her line named after her two daughters Alex and Ani not only embraces our reality that women come in all shapes and sizes but is also ethically-sound…the endless hoop earrings and bangles are made from recycled metals.

Coincidently Henri Bendel just launched the collection in New York this month followed quickly by Q in Singapore.

Affordable Contemporary Styles from Desti Saint

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

Hong Kong-born Desti Saint has created a range of handbags that will not break the bank while still delivering fashionable and totally usable looks. Her line holds mass appeal as her debut collection sold out within a fortnight in Hong Kong!

Desti’s extensive collection includes snakeskin hobos in a riot of jewel tones, leather-on-linen messenger bags, metallic leather hobos and sumptuous faux suede clutches. Most of her bags feature a luxuriant tassel, a hand-carved jade or brass Chinese motif which inject the bags with a subtle Asian edge and give them a distinctive Desti Saint flavour.
